About Us

The Alameda Shade Shop is a family business and has been in the Hayes family for the last 25 years. Located in the heart of Alameda, we have been supplying the local Victorian homes with our roller shades since 1948. In the last 13 years our product line has expanded. We now carry the full line of Hunter Douglas window coverings as well as woven woods, verticals, Roman shades, drapes and sheers (even stage drapery!), and, coming soon, bed coverings.

 
Procedures / Policies

We strongly urge our customers to come into the store to view our gallery. We try to have an example of every product so the customer can physically see and feel the product. This way they know what it is they are getting. Once you’ve decided what you like, make an appointment for us to come and measure. Your measurements are fine, but if you want an install, we need to measure; besides, if your home or office is local, we may be able to measure for free! Call or come in for details and eligibility.
